FARM ASSISTANT

37hrs per week / All year round (weekends included)

Kent Range 3 : £17,365 per annum

The North School are seeking an enthusiastic, hard working farm assistant to work on our busy school farm. The farm is well equipped with modern facilities and is used across the curriculum as well as by visiting schools and groups. We have a thriving Young Farmers’ Club, who have had successes at shows such as the Kent County Show.

Experience of farm work and/or animal care is essential to the role as our range of animals including reptiles, small animals, poultry and farm animals. The successful applicant, as well as assisting with the general running of the farm, will also assisting with the delivery of some our farm-based science and animal care lessons, maintaining our garden area and assisting with agricultural shows, trips and events.

A flexible approach to working hours is required especially during lambing and calving periods. The role includes working every other weekend. A full driving licence is desirable. Candidates should be able to work to a high standard, paying particular attention to health and safety on the farm.
