The Kingscote Wine Estate is about 152 acres in total, with an established vineyard and orchard, restored fifteenth century visitor’s barn, winery, shop, office, fishing lakes, farmhouse, converted coach house and equestrian facilities.

Kingscote is a grassland farm and commercial vineyard in the Kingscote Valley between the Bluebell Railway and Wierwood reservoir. The setting and facilities have encouraged the current owners to run activities such as vineyard tours, cookery courses and team building events, as well as outdoor sports including fishing and clay shooting.

The initial vines were planted in 2010, 2011 and 2013 and have been planted on the south facing slopes. From the estate’s own vineyards and orchard, premium wines and “cyder” are produced by award winning executive winemaker Owen Elias. The vineyards have been established to produce more than 100,000 bottles of still and sparkling wine a year and 2014 saw Kingscote’s first harvest.

Chris Spofforth, head of Savills farm agency in the South East, said: “Kingscote is an exceptional testament to one man’s passion. Christen Monge’s legacy is an estate that will undoubtedly generate an enormous amount of interest on the open market as properties like this are very rarely available.”
