It was the 35th time that the school farm has exhibited at the Show with the animals. They were delighted when BBC Countryfile decided to cover the build-up and some of their time at the Show, the students met all the presenters and spent time with Matt Baker. Brockhill will be featuring on the Countryfile Summer Special on 26 July.
Notable wins included: Abbi Phillips winning the Champion Market Calf completion, bringing home the Bryan Hawkes Memorial Trophy (Mr Hawkes was Stockman at Brockhill before his death); the lamb show team notched up the wins, winning two Butchers classes and two Handlers classes. Head of Rural Studies, Donna Ashlee said: “the calibre of our stock has really improved and we are pleased that we only show animals that have been reared on our own school farm, we are delighted with the hard work that our students put in which has reaped the success”.
The pig team also did well with 1st and 3rd prize places.
